‘Steam Redoubled’ - SR V Schools Class, 30914 ‘Eastbourne’, with the ‘Conti’ near Shalford. £280 (+p&p)
Painting ofSchools Class Locomotive emerging from under bridge, surrounded by steam.

Ever since being a young child, I remember the spectacular and fascinating patterns of steam created by an engine forging under a bridge; how the steam and smoke would momentarily disappear only to burst out in every direction around the engine. I chose to capture this with a view of a rather shabby, but still handsome, Schools Class loco with a full head of steam ready for the climb up through Gomshall with the ‘Continental Express’ on the North Downs Line, in the 1950's.

Oil on Canvas Board, Size c. 12"x8". Price £280 (+p&p small)
